Won't even bother to go into the others. On the other hand I think I will: Alpharetta = Concord. ARE YOU CRAZY? Alpharetta, which is filled will million dollar homes.

Please name 5 subdivisions in Concord that have at least 150 homes each with prices $1Million and up

I just went realtor.com and here's what I found:
Concord has just 10 homes listed over 1million, with he highiest being 1.2million.
-vs-
Alpharetta: well I stopped at the first 160 listing which started at $14mil and the last (after I stopped counting ) was $1.5million.

Gastonia had 1 house over a million - $1.1mil to be exact. The price points drop off quickly. 8 listings later and we are already at $500K
-vs-
Marrietta's most expensive listing is $6million. I went through the 1st 150 listings and stopped at $1.1million

I would go through of the towns/cities you mentioned and the results would be the same. Perhaps you should do that yourself.

Try doing it with Buckhead and SouthPark. Heck - try Duluth and SouthPark.

Sandy Springs and Huntersville.

I like Charlotte - I may even move there. But I would never embellish what the town is.

Is this a Statistical database conversation????

You guys are pulling the wrong demos. Can we get some importante info in here for a change????.

Does anybody here know how many cheap Mexican Taco Restaurants are in Charlotte compared to Atlanta?

That would be the first important demo involved. Please?

For Freaks sake............ can we bring something at least semi important into this conversation?

Feel like in some type of math contest here.

Whoops.... wrong thread. My bad !!!

If this is the Charlotte thread tho, can somebody explain to me who thought it would be a good idea to mix syn stucco with fake stone in a 1.5mm hood?

Seriously

Is Delhomme the worst QB in the league or what?

If living within 3 or 4 hours from Snowshoe or Winterplace is an amenity then Charlotte. Otherwise Atlanta.

Delhomme is what you call a safe QB. Safe in the sense that he is what he is. No Frills, no thrills. Generally bad, sometimes surprisingly good, most times a non-factor average QB - whom would have been traded or benched in another city. The reason he is still the QB is because of these traits - which is a reflection of the team's fan base, which covers NC and SC - NOT CHARLOTTE, ALONE. Delhomme causes very little stir even when he stinks. The team does not have a strong enought base city constituency yet. The city of Charlotte is not big enough. That's why the team is the CAROLINA PANTHERS. They practice in SC. It's is a Carolinas team. The team has to appeal to the CAROLINAS. So they take the safe route every year with the average non factor QB. They would never sign Michael Vick - even though he would sell out the place and guarantee more TV spots.

You could even compare some suburbs

Atlanta to Charlotte
Marietta to Gastonia
Alpharetta to Concord
Kannapolis to Roswell
Wow... I that hurts my feelings. I've lived in Alpharetta as a kid and Marietta now... Those places don't even come close to being similar in any aspects. Gastonia to North Georgia mountain folk? Why yes, better comparison.
Marietta is what, 10 minutes outside of downtown ATL and Gastonia is 30 minutes away? Concord is just a mall and a bunch of houses. I go to school @ UNC Charlotte and experience these things and the people from these places. Those are by far the most absurd comparisons I've ever heard.
Couldn't compare downtowns because Charlotte doesn't really seem to have one (it's so small) while Atl has 2... 3?... Maybe a fourth? And South Park doesn't even come close to Buckhead honestly.
Also, has Charlotte ever hosted the Olympic Games? Uh, I don't think they've even ever been considered for anything of such prestige and envy...
Charlotte vs. Atlanta is like saying Charlotte vs. NY or Chicago, or L.A. honestly. Maybe not as wide of a gap as those cities but it's pretty close

Not to drag this on for longer than it's worth (though something tells me it's going to go on anyway), I'm curious, does Charlotte have anything exemplifying the "edge city" phenomenon, as the Perimeter area does in Atlanta?

I am originally from Charlotte and I lived in Atlanta 5 years. I can honestly say that half of the people on this thread have never spent any real time in either cities. Charlotte and Atlanta are two wonderful cities and both offer a wonderful amount of things to do. For those who like to say that a city is bigger or better because of the number of skycrapers is ridiculous. What a lot of Atlanta natives don't know is that in Charlotte their are height restrictions for buildings outside of the 277 loop. Southpark and other areas outside of dontown Charlotte are actually built in a campus style because of these restrictions. The population of Southpark is actually over 100,000 people. Just like the population of University City in northeast Charlotte is over 200,000 people. Also Charlotte is ranked 6th in the country for the number of Fortune 500 headquarters.

Well it might not make the city "better" (highly subjective), but it is generally - for better or worse - an accurate measure of a city's importance, along with population.

Not really surprised Charlotte is ranked 6th for Fortune 500s. It's well known that Charlotte is a busy-friendly, up-and-coming corporate town.
