Skokie, Illinois-based Ammeraal Beltech is planning to open a new conveyor belt manufacturing plant in Buford this fall.

GreyOrange is investing more than $1 million to relocate its global headquarters to metro Atlanta. The global leader in artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled software and robotics for fulfillment automation will create 200 additional jobs in the area.

The company’s new international headquarters in Roswell includes 110,000 square feet of office and warehousing space that serves as a global fulfillment center for building and shipping autonomous mobile robots. Atlanta based F500 company Graphic Packaging has announced two new planned acquisitions.

Graphic Packaging has put forward plans to acquire North American folding carton manufacturer Americraft Carton. The deal, valued at around $280m, includes seven Americraft Carton converting facilities and all the company’s employees. Americraft Carton specialises in manufacturing paperboard folding carton for various industries, including the food, food service, pet food and pharmaceutical sectors. Upon completion of the deal, Graphic Packaging is expected to generate around $200m in sales, $30m in adjusted EBITDA, and other opportunities for paperboard integration.

Graphic Packaging has agreed to acquire AR Packaging, Europe’s second-largest producer of fibre-based packaging, for approximately $1.45 billion in cash.

The proposed acquisition of AR Packaging is projected to add $1.1 billion in annual sales and $160 million in annual Adjusted EBITDA. In addition, the combination is expected to drive total synergies of $40 million over 36 months following close. The deal is scheduled to be immediately accretive to the company’s earnings per share and cash flow.

Graphic Packaging hopes that the acquisition will enhance its global scale, innovation capabilities, and value proposition for customers throughout Europe and bordering regions.

Roark Capital has acquired the 390-unit bakery chain Nothing Bundt Cakes from Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, the two private equity firms said on Friday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Nothing Bundt Cakes, or NBC, has more than doubled in size since Levine Leichtman bought the firm in 2016, when the chain had 175 locations. The chain generates $470 million in system sales in the U.S. and Canada.

The chain is headquartered in Addison, Tex. It is known for its Bundt cakes made on site, ranging in size from bite-sized “Bundtinis" to tiered Bundt cakes that serve 26.

Greenlight Financial Technology, Inc., an Atlanta, GA-based fintech company focused on helping parents raise financially-smart kids, closed a $260m Series D funding.

The round, which brought total funding to over $550m and increased the company’s valuation to $2.3 billion in a six-month period, was led by Andreessen Horowitz.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development to add more financial services to the platform, to invest further in strategic distribution partnerships and geographic expansion, hire more talent with plans to add 300 new employees with a focus on engineering over the next two years.

Atlanta Inno is a good place to find information on VC funding and the tech scene in Atlanta. They have a monthly "blog" that aggregates all of the VC funding from the month and a newsletter too.

"From pre-seed to high growth rounds, Atlanta startups raised more than $725 million in April. Atlanta unicorns OneTrust and Greenlight Financial Technology raised more than $200 million each, padding their multi-billion-dollar valuations. Other startups closed mostly early-stage rounds."
