I am a teacher and will be relocating to Atlanta from Shreveport, LA in June. I haven't decided what school district I will be working at yet, but I have received my GA teaching certificate. I am a single female and wanted to know if The Edgewater Apartments at Sandy Springs in a great location. If these apartments are not safe, could you please give me a list of apartments in a safe area that are reasonable. I do not want to pay over $700. Thanks.

I am also from Louisiana. (New Orleans). I lived in the same area as Edgewater and I think you will find them nice for the price. The area is nice, Sandy Springs is "High rent district". The only problem is that they are not all renovated and most properties in Atlanta have difficulty finding tenants if they are not renovated. It is quiet and family oriented. The location is convenient especially since you don't know which school district. The commute would be better if you work anywhere in the North Atlanta area within Atlanta. I f you work in South counties, you will want to live closer to that area. Commutes here can easily be 11/2 to 2 hours! Good luck and welcome to ATL!
