No, it's another pipe dream by Atlantans that will never come to fruition. The city is on life-support, there is no market for upscale projects like this in most any cities, let alone there.

Conspicuous consumption is considered tacky in 2011. This isn't 2007 anymore, and nowhere is that reality more apparent than in Atlanta.

See, I don't equate upscale with conspicuous consumption. Typically the wealthy (especially the old money) -- and there are a lot of them in Atlanta -- go for just the opposite.

True but who do you think shops at these flashy shops? Those that want to flaunt their wealth. Which is fine and dandy, I have no issue with that. That said right now its not "in".

That's true of some people who shop in flashy stores, but certainly not all of them. Many folks who are truly wealthy may buy upscale things but they often have little interest in flaunting their wealth.

For instance, in wealthy areas you'll typically see folks driving nice middle of the road Mercedes and Lexi, but almost zero Bentleys or exotic sports cars. No need to flash it if you've got it and true wealth tends to manifest in other ways anyhow. (hospital wings and philanthropy, exclusive homes on the coast and/or the mountains, art collections, private trust management, etc.)

Your bitterness is clouding your judgement, yet again.

The firm that is taking over this project is from San Diego. They do outstanding work, and most of it is mainstream - not luxury.

If you are actually interested and not here to just bash again, check out their website.

Thank you for this insider information with that website. I am having a difficulty finding on the website where they have jobs openings on this website. Do you know the man who runs this company? I can send an application to him for a receptionist to this business venture of his.

Default "Streets of Buckhead" No More!

Streets of Buckhead will get new name, new look, and probably a whole lot less of everything else-
If and when it's ever finished.
