Trying to find a decent sized house/lot within city limits would be ideal.

Since so many people are moving or want to move to the city, shouldn't that help some up-and-coming neighborhoods get on the path to revitalization much faster, even in this slow market?

Anyone care to chyme in on Ardmore Park? I'm curious about that area.

Without knowing specifics I'd say the Ardmore Park Collier Hills area is a nice little area full of quaint bungalows. I use to date someone that lives in that area. It's pretty safe. Noise and congestion can be an issue at times with piedmont right next door and with collier being crowded most of the time because of no light on 28th. From my experience I've seen a mix of young and old, there's a nice jogging/walking trail that runs along the park to up the edge of bobby jones that you'll see people frequent.

I go to Piedmont Hosp to see my endocrinologist about 2x a year and this does seem like a very nice area. But I can't say much more than a drive-by impression.

Without further info I'd say come move here to Candler Park! It's the best neighborhood in the WWWWOOOORRRRLLLDDD!!!!!!

(yes, deliberately being corny)

I actually really like the Ardmore Park/Pseudo SoBu area. It's one of the true streetcar suburb gems of the city. Traffic in the is pretty bad however during the lunch hour and afternoon rush hour on Peachtree (not so much in the morning for some odd reason) and can be a bit of pain if you are home during the day. This problem is compounded by the fact that the neighborhood is not served by MARTA rail service (which kept me from considering moving to the neighborhood before), however the #110 runs often (every 15 minutes in either direction) and there are plans to connect the area to MARTA rail with streetcar service eventually.

Other than that, it's a nice walkable neighborhood and has one of favorite cafe's in the city in Cafe Intermezzo along with some great restaurants in the surrounding area. The only crime problems I am aware of were a rash of smash and grabs at the boutiques in the area...but that is kind of the "in thing" now as it seems.

People are moving all over Atlanta. Where they move depends on how much money they have. However, most of the population growth was probably in high-rise or cluster housing.

Can some one give me informtion on Kirkwood and/or Edgewood "East Atlanta" I have only driven by but I am amazed at what has taken place over there. I was at the shopping center I forgot the name of it, and liked the change in the scenery and the energy down there.
