No that’s a t-splost project. They’re upgrading the street all the to mlk blvd and upgrading mlk blvd to deans bridge I believe.

Are there any renderings of what the streets will look like? Will the medians have trees and flowers or will it be leveled off with concrete?

I’m not too sure of the exact location, but it’s right by the new broad street bridge that just opened. I guess the intersection would be broad and river watch prk way, idk. Anyway, what is being constructed there on that corner? I noticed it when I was in town.

Let’s talk about new restaurants. There’s the Groucho’s Deli at 758 Broad St., Riverside Smoke barbecue at the corner of 10th and Ellis streets, and Vance’s Bakery Bar at 123 James Brown Boulevard. And proving that downtown is ready for national chains is the freshly opened Domino’s Pizza at the corner of Reynolds and 13th streets.

Frog Hollow Hospitality Group, the folks behind restaurants such as Frog Hollow Tavern and Farmhaus, are busy turning the former Blue Sky Kitchen space at 990 Broad St. into its latest dining concept. The former Cotton Patch space along Eighth Street at the riverfront is undergoing renovations by the former chef from downtown’s Rooster’s Beak restaurant

The contract to widen 15th St has been awarded.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, Beam’s Contracting Inc. was awarded the construction contract for the 15th Street corridor from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Government Road. The expected completion date for the $10.5 million project is summer 2022, with the official start set in the coming weeks.
The project will widen 15th Street from two lanes to four 11-foot wide lanes, two on each side separated by a raised median. The road will also have left-turn lanes at median openings, and King Jr. Boulevard from Olive Road to 15th Street will be resurfaced.
A separate Georgia DOT contract awarded to Reeves Construction will repave 15th Street from north of Gordon Highway to Olive Road connecting to the TIA project. Five-foot sidewalks and bike lanes will be installed along 15th Street, with pedestrian crosswalks and lighting also included, the department said.
The project is expected to improve access to and from AU Medical Center, downtown Augusta, employment centers, residences, schools, churches and community gathering places.
