Howdy All,

Heading up to Santa Fe this summer, just wondering if the 183 to 84 route through Lubbok and Clovis is better than 10 to 285N?

No real rush, an enjoyable drive is more important than arriving an hour earlier...

Thanks!

I have gotten to Santa Fe three different ways. One was up through Clovis, which is only bad as you cross the border - the stockyards there are something to be amazed at... The crossing of the mountains is a nice drive if you like the scenic route.

I have traveled through El Paso (due to business) and then north on I-25 (I think that is the interstate). That is a obviously out of the way, though, but a very easy except for dodging tumbleweeds...

Finally, I have flown in to Albuquerque and driven north, but that is a combined road/plane trip, so doesn't really apply .

Love the drive through Clovis. It's easy and there are lots of things to look at! Enjoy!

Going through Clovis is fine. I usually go Clovis - Ft. Sumner - Santa Rosa - Albuquerque - Santa Fe because I had friends in ABQ, but the 'mountain route' up 84 or 285 looks interesting.

I go by way of San Angelo, Big Spring, Lamesa, Brownfiled, Levelland, Littlefield, Muleshoe, Clovis, Ft. Sumner, Vaughn, Encino, Four Corners (at I40), then up 285 to Santa Fe. Great drive!
