Thinking about looking at property in Georgetown - I know it is a small but growing town - are there any areas NOT recommended to live in and why? What about something in Georgetown off of Leander Road?

In all my driving around there, I really haven't come across any areas that would be no nos. There are areas with newer construction and older homes as well, but no run down or dangerous areas that I'm aware of. Same with Leander.

That's a great area. And Gary Ranch will never be developed. The owner donated it to the city of Georgetown for a future park. The neighborhood, Escalera Ranch is bordered by Gary Ranch, the San Gabriel River and property owned by a quarry.

There's a variety of areas off of Leander Road, all of them nice, none of them "not recommended". What are you looking for in particular? That would help narrow things down a bit.

Just looking to move to Georgetown and don't want to buy a lot and don't want to have any regrets. Love Sun City but it will probably price me out eventually. So looking at buying a lot for a weekend home and then moving there permanently in 5 or 7 years.

So you want to retire here eventually and visit between now and then? Okay, that's very do-able. There's lots of options in Georgetown for that kind of thing. If you think you'll be priced out of Sun City, though, Escalera's probably not for you - the one lot there that is currently on the market is more than a lot of homes in Sun City.

Are you wanting a retirement community specifically? We have several here.

SO what retirement communities do you have out there other than Sun City - not looking for a senior citizen place but a nice community like Sun City -- would like to know what other options are out there.
