Here is an interesting trivia fact about the Bastrop area, just East of your resort. Out East of Bastrop a farmer near there cleared a large area of land but left patches of trees so that they spell out his last name. LUECKE. It is so big astronauts said they could see it from outer space while orbiting in the space shuttle. See the google map link and the photo below.

Since Austin was/ is the so called Live Music Capital of the World, we need some music scene pictures. Unfortunately my taste in music in the 90's was a curious mix of punk and garage that centered around venues such as the Blue Flamingo, Emo's, and The Bates Motel. Lots of fun was had back then. Can't get any more anti-tourist than this. These dive bars are probably avoided like the plague when people come to our city for a visit. Not sure if this link will work, but here is my musical recollection.
