Last yr we went to Charleston and on the way to the airport it smelled horrid. When I asked about it I was told it was the paper plant. Wow it is bad.
Love Charleston!

I remember my car windows getting quite steamy with some of the gals down there...

Not very many years ago, I traveled from Houston to Charleston for a week-long conference. Loved the historic district and good restaurants. However, I never sweat so much even in Houston! That was a surprise ... it was actually a relief to get back to Houston. OTOH, as bad as it was, I imagine that Houston has a longer period of continuous heat & humidity. I was just unlucky about when I visited there.

On Austin, I love it, but it can be like a blast furnace in summer. I lived there for 4 years, so I can compare it to Houston. I do like Austin more, but if I wind up living there again and want to do outdoor activities, I would probably want to spend summers somewhere out of Texas.

This slow start to summer this year has me worried for some reason...water-wise and temperature-wise. I hope I'm wrong.
