Let's all panic and disrupt the economy. Yeah, that's a good idea.

Let ‘em come, spread it around in those vast mobs, and get it over with toot sweet.

Of course the hospital overload will mess up the healthcare system, and the petroleum industry is already screwed until at least next winter. In other words, the world economies are already affected and will get worse for a while.

If SXSW is cancelled because of the coronavirus, then why not ban all flights into Austin or just close off Austin altogether? I mean, my goodness, if we're going to function in "panic" mode, let's do it right and go full force.

the panic is ridiculous. Shows how most people operate off emotions and not logic.

this corona virus will spread to the entire united states. Speeding it up by a week or two is irrelevant. There are events all over the country. Should every single conference be cancelled? Sporting events? Should all international travel be banned?

Get a grip people.

Will be there unless the Chinese virus gits me.

I hope they do cancel. Mostly because of the virus but also because I work downtown and it's a PITA to deal with all of the out-of-towners and pedestrians.

Change.org has a petition for cancellation. You can find the link in this news story: https://www.kvue.com/mobile/article/...1-667bc294f6a6

There’s always something closing major streets downtown about every weekend.
