that's nuts. sorry, but I am not waiting for new construction or bidding on a lot.

why don't you just look for a resale in Travisso? I bet you it'd be less expensive than the new ones.

and lol at "preowned"...I thought that was a term for cars, haha

I meant to say first time home buyers, those who buy their primary house. With such a hot market, first-time home buyers are limited with few choices.

That was my original plan until 4 months of waiting and nothing came up, and the only thing that came up was someone selling an 800k ish house for 1.3M. So....

To add a couple of data points, we bid on 4 Taylor Morrison lots across 2 communities this past round. We were not the high bid on any of them.

Travisso
Lot A - minimum: $37k, our bid: $41.5k
Lot B - minimum: $55k, our bid: $61.5k

Traditions at Vizcaya
Lot A - minimum: $40k, our bid: $81.5k
Lot B - minimum: $30k, our bid: $71.5k

I am very surprised that we didn't get Vizcaya B with an over double bid. Going for super high values. Hoping this is a bit of a new year's bubble.

OMG, that is just insane!!!!

I joined the recent Travisso bid as well and here is mine
Travisso
Lot A - minimum: $35k, our bid: $38k
Lot B - minimum: $90k, our bid: $14.5k

And ofc, we did not get the lots, wondering what are ppl actually bidding to win the lots. Is it a standard operating procedure for builders to NOT release the final bidding results? It sure sounds sketchy to me that they are not releasing the final results.

Can you elaborate a bit about the details of the lots you placed bids on? I’m interested in a smaller 2,000 square foot home by Toll Brothers or Taylor Morrison out in Travisso and am wondering what the premiums are for these small lots. This size of a home I reckon will be built on a lot of about 7k square feet or less and is part of the Capri Collection. I’m guessing that the lots that you bid on were greater than 12k square feet?

My agent friends in other parts of the country are saying their market is just as crazy. Sellers are holding out til covid passes and with the strong economy coupled with low interest rates, Buyers far out number sellers and Builders can't keep up. Some are taking advantage of the high need for homes. I have been told that people have offered more than double on the TM lots and plan to pay cash when they don't appraise

I bid on the Sienna lots this time by Taylor Morrison, I am not too familiar with the Capri Collections. I think the lots I bid on are about 10k square feet.

I have bid at both Bluffview and Travisso in Jan 2021.

At Bluffiew for 70ft lot (lot 32) - I bid over 200K, but I still did NOT win the bid.

I have also bid for a lot in Travisso for a similar amount and I DID win the bid.

I hate to be buying a house in such a competitive and insane market, but it is what it is.

Hope that helps.
