Funny video. LOL it's the Austin hype machine at work again (33K views already) -- who DOESN'T want to live in the place an old preacher-lady calls a hotbed of hippies, intellectualism, acceptance and sin!

Good Lord! And I'm thinking of moving to that Hell Hole!?

Actually, its sad when people believe that you can't be a good Christian if you are intelligent, accepting and enjoy life. I think we should distrust anyone who thinks they know "the truth" and dismisses all others as below them. This kind of thing, honestly, is one thing that gives Texas a bad name in other parts of the country.

This doesn't change our intent to come to Austin. It does make me even more concerned that we will not be able to find a church that isn't full of people like this lady.

There are a lot of great churches here, I think you'll find one or two you'll like after you shop around a bit, Grasshopper.

Intellectualism, ah, the great evil, ideas shedding their pesky light everywhere!

Not to worry, Grasshopper. Based on my experience, she (and the extremely weird guy who kept smiling and nodding) is a rarity here, in church or out of it. Here, and in most other parts of Texas, as well.

Damn hippies and intellectuals! A fine example of where all this "acceptance" gets you:
YouTube - Free Hugs Austin, Texas

On a more serious note, I'm much happier living around cute hippie girls who are giving out free hugs than some dumb redneck woman who is a complete nutjob. What is she doing in Austin anyway?

I consider myself a Christian, and can't believe what was coming out of that womans mouth either. How funny. The flashes to the grinning guy made me think of it as something more akin to a Saturday Night Live sketch.

whatever! that old bag is just plain ole' fashioned crazy! Send her butt to Utah where these beliefs are practiced in full swing then...who needs this kind of stupid talk. Austin is the best city in Texas to live in, I have lived in Dallas, San Antonio, Houston and now Austin...and this is the place I want to raise my children and retire. I love it here, I may be a hippie chick, but at least I am sane and not an opinionated hypocritical witch.
