I do know of a really nice family man who is a Williamson County officer who says he groans when he hears of fellow officers doing stuff like this. He has said that there are a lot of good men who are officers, but that there's also a fair share of egotistical power-hungry jerks acting as police.

For sure. I have some friends that are officers and they say the same things. It's a very difficult job.

I'm sure there's a police procedure for a situation when someone is caught speeding because of a medical emergency. I personally don't know what it is, but I really don't think "you can get another one" was it.

Animals have rights under the law, so whatever the procedure for humans is, I don't know why it doesn't apply here as well.

I would've kept driving too. Probably would've sped up a notch when I saw the cherries in case the pig got any funny ideas about trying to shoot out the tires...

This is going to turn into the mother of all PR nightmares for the SMPD and am quite sure there will be some job openings down there soon.

All that said, it's really not fair to say all cops are power hungry jerks. I was pulled off on the side of the road a few weeks back to change a flat and a member of the APD stopped to see if I needed help. I had the situation under control, but I was very appreciative of the fact he stopped. That's what they mean by "protect and serve". I'm guessing the SM cop probably would've drove on by and probably flipped me off just for good measure!

"Relax. It's just a tire. You can get another one".

Think of how much money you will save driving oh so carefully: insurance, tickets, body repairs, fuel.

I drove my father 15 miles to Brack when he had a heart attack, It was hard to do but I drove no more than 5 mph over the speed limit (hell cars were passing me) to the hospital. We made it and he's fine, I just did not want to risk a crash or getting pulled over.

The fact that they have to deal with bad people is no excuse to treat us peons like they do. They take mandatory classes on sensitivity training. They are trained to stand there and take humiliation and not flinch. I think they all forget that training and once that gun is put in their hand their head grows to 10 times the size.

One of the other complaint about this whole issue is "HOW LONG IT TOOK TO WRITE THE TICKET" *YaWn*

So what if it took 20 minutes. The officer has every right to tow that vehicle away due to his excessive speeds! **Just saying**

Luckly he was not pulled over by a State Trooper. He'd eat a donut and drink his coffee and spill it on your ticket before bring it back out to you. They take 4-ever!! Never get pulled over by one out in Marble Falls (just a tip). I could of pulled my tent out of the trunk and camped.
