My husband and I are both self employed and are trying to decide which town in the Hill Country would be best for us economically and is not so hustle bussel. We currently live in Frisco, which is north of Dallas and would really love to live on the Northern California Coast but with the state income tax and cost of living forget about it!

We just went to Fredericksburg for the first time and really liked it. But I don't know if we could survive financially in such a small town. My husband is a Master Electrician and we own an electrical contracting company and business is really good here north of Dallas. My business is designing, manufacturing and selling jewelry organizers and I sell online, on EBay, Amazon and my own website. My business can go anywhere, but my husbands is another story, there really has to be a need.

I am curious about what electricians/electricial contractors charge in those areas and if they are busy or slow currently and how in the world to do such a large move? It is kinda scarry!!! We are in our late 40's and we can not afford to make a huge mistake at this time in our life, but life is too short to live somewhere you would rather not live.

I'd pick New Braunfels as it's a little more in the middle of things.

I would think anywhere inside a Georgetown to Llano to Kerville to Boerne to NewBraunfels umbrella would provide access to growth and jobs, especially electrical. If you're willing to look at Glen Rose then consider Lampasas, Belton, Killeen, Temple. You might check into government contracts at Fort Hood.
