Hello,

Been living here in Austin for 5 months now. Planning on making big changes including start living my passion about cooking. I've visited 2 Culinary Schools and as far as cost wise they are both pretty much the same. The big question is which is better; which will appear to make a difference in my resume.

I took the tour and orientation at The Cordon Blue and at the Culinary Academy of Austin as well. If you are a former student or just started and want to give me some advice on these two I'd really appreciate it. For example: The instructors, formality of classes, chances of getting a better job after graduation, etc.

This is a big step for me in finally persuing something I've loved for my whole life and now I feel is my big opportunity to achieve it.

Thank you

you want to cook? go cook! Beg to be apprenticed to a chef at a restaurant, culinary schools cost big bucks, front yourself the money and work in restaurants instead.

There are thousands of culinary school graduates in Austin. Many do not work in restaurants because they don't pay anything. Every other person working at Central Market or Whole Foods graduated from a culinary academy.

I don't mean to be a downer about this but just know that graduating from a culinary school will not guarantee you a good job.
