Finally, they found someone to rent out the old Chili's on 360 across from Davenport! Yum!

I like Gumbo's and am looking forward to this. I hope they put a bar in this location, that would be nice. It'll also be nice to have easy parking and not have to valet the car.

I used to like Gumbo's back in its original incarnation off Mopac in North Austin when going there reminded me of going to places I've enjoyed in NO. When they got bought out and moved to Round Rock and went upscale and you could not buy just a bowl of gumbo (which was ludicrous, given the name and the origins), we stopped going and moved on to other venues for the same kind of food we'd enjoyed at the original.

Anyone know if you can buy just a bowl of gumbo now?

Does Gumbos have beignets?

Good luck to them. Westlake can be a very tough place for restaurants. Other than Maudie's and The Grove, I can't think of any restaurant in Westlake that even has a wait on Friday or Saturday night.

No wait in Westlake, sounds good to me! The Chuy's on William Cannon is unbearable!

Sambet's is good. (I used to get my Andouille for gumbo from them before it was available as the grocery store.) Louisiana Longhorn is outstanding.

As long as Ive been eating at gumbos (10 years?) I have been able to get a bowl of gumbo. I usually have them add oysters to it as well.
