Is it the "Metro", the "Commuter Rail" the "Red Line" or what? We don't seem to have a good moniker for our newfound mass transit option from the media. Thusfar the humorous "Red Death Machine" designation has been proposed by eepstein, but I want to hear other ideas as well.

I was expecting "The MetroRail" or something to that effect. We could call it the "Red Herring" I suppose.

How about a tidy acronym? The "BRMWDM" doesn't really have a ring to it.

How about the "Trans-Austin Rail Development?" or the "Leander-Austin Metro Extension"?

I was surprised at how long it takes to get from Cedar Park to downtown. What us the average speed of the train?

My understanding is that it takes just as long to drive, if not longer. A car will at least get you as close as possible to the front door of your destination. I think an urban rail would have been better. The only way I could see this as being worth it, is if you take your bike with you when you ride. The ability for Leanderthals to get rid of one of their cars is the only redeeming value. The convenience is not there yet.
