He was on the radio this morning. I was going to look for him on my way to work but I was going the opposite direction.

Where is the billboard? The CNN story doesn't specify, and I can't tell from the shots...

Good for him. Way better than those crackheads harrasing/panhandling people for money and it does not annoy any people. Hope he gets back on his feet soon.

Creative begging is interesting for a while (until too many others try it).
I hope someone offers the guy a job.

I thought about buying this house, that needs a lot of work, and then giving free room and board to someone who would be able to return the value in the form of work on the home.

But I have never had luck with that sort of thing in the past. Usually I just end up with someone who takes advantage of me.

Just saw this on the Statesman website:

Quote:
Homeless man on billboard moving into new home

By Claudia Grisales | Thursday, May 6, 2010, 08:39 AM

A homeless man who has been standing on a billboard off Interstate 35 to draw attention to the city’s homeless population will move into a new home today, according to a website dedicated to the cause.

Since late April, Danny Silver has been standing on the 50-foot billboard just off Woodland Avenue on the southbound side of I-35. The billboard has a large arrow pointing at Silver and asks people to text “Danny” to 20222 to make a $10 donation to get Silver off the streets. Besides asking drivers to text, the billboard also directs them to the campaign’s website, I AM HERE, if they want to do more.
