Fox says replacing DW in the booth is impossible, so they are just going with Mike Joy and Jeff Gordon this year.

Hmmm. What happened to DW? Did he retire or did fox get rid of him? I found him annoying the few times I watched anymore.

For those of you with 5G phones, NASCAR has been in advanced discussions with Verizon over a deal that could include tracks getting 5G wireless technology. Talks center around sponsorship by Verizon, in exchange for NASCAR buying Verizon tech to upgrade tracks' capabilities.

Default More Indy Gimmickry

Today NASCAR and IMS announced that the Xfinity race at Indy will be run on the infield road course. Something new for all 10 people who go to that race. They should just move the damn thing back to IRP/Lucas Oil Raceway where it belongs.

I'm pretty excited about this move. Hopefully the Cup series will follow suit next season.

If they do that, they should pack up and leave Indy altogether because it'll be a tacit admission that the Brickyard 400 is a failure.

NASCAR has been resistant to doing this, but I'd really like to see some alternating races. Indy would probably be a good place, though I'm not familiar with their road course at all. But, run the speedway one year, the road course the next.. And just alternate.

Back when they were talking about ditching Darlington and did ditch Rockingham.. There was discussion about Darlington keeping 1 race as thier own, and the second date would rotate between Rockingham and Darlington. Odd years, they're at Darlington, even at Rockingham.

I hate seeing races removed from the schedule where they don't go back to them at all. But.. Some places, like Atlanta.. if they raced there only every other year.. It wouldn't break my heart. But I also wouldn't want to see Atlanta dropped from the schedule.
