We own a 2002 Ford Explorer and a 2008 Ford F150. I drive a 2012 International Pro Star+ truck tractor pulling various makes of van trailers at work.

Well, that is a difficult question to answer. Technically 5. However, one of them is in pretty bad shape and really not street-worthy despite the fact that it is licensed. Another one is a traditional 3-speed (on the steering column) and I am not sure I would know HOW to drive it, so I would not take it out on the street either. That leaves 3 that I could jump into, and drive off, if I wanted.

Three on the tree is cake. In the ones I've driven or owned, reverse is towards you and up. 1st is straight down from there, 2nd is up and towards the front of the car, and 3rd is straight down from there. It's not a fast movement, but it's simple once you do it a few times. Imagine a 3 speed fllor shifter like these

but turned up on its side, as if the know was facing the passenger window.

One pickup and one car for me. Sold the motorcycle, and even when I had the waverunner I couldn't "walk out and drive it".
