We always keep a spare. Bad experiences. Hence, I am rotating a Camry and Silverado daily, wife drives her SUV, kid has his Mazdaspeed. But we always have one extra available in case life goes sour.

8 at our house (well it is rare they are all there at once), 4 others we could call on in a pinch. (Plus my brother's 2 electrics, but they have only a 40 mile range, so we could not really go anywhere in them, but he would let us use them. I suppose we could go somewhere in his hovercraft too if things were desperate.

1999 Honda Civic HX M/T as my main vehicle, because it's very fuel efficient
2005 Grand Caravan SXT with DVD and Tow Package, used for hauling stuff and vacation trips or out of state jobs. Otherwise, it's just a backup vehicle in case my Honda breaks down. It's always good to have a backup vehicle for work. It's almost 2 years old by now but I have driven it less than 1800 miles.
