My car's window trim (between the glass and the body) is cracking and rusting the metal beneath. No water leaks inside the car. However, I want to improve the looks by replacing the trim or covering it up. Is this a D-I-Y repair, or would you recommend to use an auto body shop? Thank you for your advice.

Unless you have some knowledge of body work, best to leave it to the pros.
Trip to the store, $6 for PlastiDip, and it only took a couple hours earlier this evening. D-I-Y.
