If you guys are going to worry about everyday dings on your cars maybe you should take a bus or park really far so that no one can park next to you. If you can't do the above, expect to get a few dings now and then.
Why? Cant I have nice things? Is it too much to ask for people to act responsible around other peoples property? If some one thew a baseball through your window, do you have a right to be upset or is that just something that happens every now and then??

I do expect to get dings every now and then. I also expect at least an apology and for large dings I expect some compensation.

Exactly!
I am shocked about 16 votes who say it is okay to damage other peoples property.

So a parking lot is a public place where cars are parked next to each other with lines. Depending on the use of said lines, and distance, doors can be opened/impact others
A baseball through a window would require the ball to come onto private property. Unless, of course, you bought a home that happens to be lined up with a pitching cage and then you complain.
A better comparison is buying a home under a airport approach, and then complaining about the noise.
Just can't let this one go, can you Chris? Survey seems conclusively against you.
