Roughly 2,000 on I-10 from Phoenix, AZ to Lake City, FL back in 2012. It was part of a 2,650 mile trip from Las Vegas to Miami Beach that we made a couple of times a year for a couple of years before we sold our house in LV and moved to Miami full-time. We'd alter our routes, sometimes taking different interstates and state highways to sightsee along the way. But that one trip on I-10 was by far the longest on any one interstate.
The Alcan highway (1387 mi) in 1963. I remember signs saying 'Gas, x miles ahead, DO NOT PASS'. At that time a lot of it was unpaved.
1963! I’m hoping to drive the Alcan next year, if covid leaves us alone by then. All of it is paved now. That would be my first time.
