Every car dealer has negative reviews.

In fact, I'd bet that car dealers in general have the lowest overall yelp/review scores.

I thought Carmax was suppose to be different, no?

Shopping at CarMax is a little bit like shopping at the upscale grocery versus shopping at one where you bag your own groceries. Sure, you pay more for the same land-o-lakes butter, but people are willing to do that for the added staff, bagged groceries, cleaner store, etc...judging by their business model.

All complaints but nobody has said if they can find the same cars somewhere else cheaper.

Like them or hate them they are doing a bang up business. They offer to take any car back within 3 or 4 days. The Oxnard California Car Max where we live is near our auto mall and they seem to do very well.

We've dealt with them twice, once on the buying end, and the second time on the selling end. Both experiences were good for us. We bought out Pathfinder from a Carmax in Houston. It had low mileage and was priced slightly under KBB. About 8 years later, we sold our F-150 to a Carmax in Orlando and got more than we expected, and much more than we would have gotten from your average dealership. Unfortunately, I think more people go on Yelp to complain than to leave good reviews. I'm good about leaving reviews, both positive and negative, about restaurants, but it never occurred to me to leave a Yelp review about a car dealership, for some reason.

I'm always checking out their inventory. Have a ton of off lease 2011-2012 Infiniti G37s that are the same or cheaper than the other dealers.

We understand you don't like Carmax. I suggest you don't deal with them, You will be happy, Carmax will be happy, and all of the posters here who have to suffer through all of your know-it-all posts will be very happy..
Your work here is done...

Insurance money and trade in value are 2 very different things... Getting amounts of money from an insurance company is like being on another planet compared to what people will give you as a trade in or to purchase your car.. That's why the insurance industry is so screwed up and expensive...

So u tried to sell your car and since Carmax gave you such a low estimate (did you take it anywhere else) you decided to keep it for another 2 years until you got in an accident??? Guess you either didn't really want to sell it or EVERYBODY wouldn't give you what you wanted....
