And then Johnson, Nixon, Carter, and HW Bush were involved in the Clean air Act. These new car mandates have been around for some time, and both parties are involved.

You do realize that my post had absolutely nothing to do with that, but only that the "naming rights" to everything belong to people who will name everything they hate after the president they are predisposed to hate, no matter what he does or no matter how little he has to do with anything?

You do realize that in those 60 years, that the Republican and Democrat parties have practically flipflopped in their political stance? Today, Eisenhower would be a Democrat and Kennedy a Republican. Eisenhower warned us against the military/industrial complex, , and Kennedy tried to take us into every spending war he could dream up, and was forced to back off Cuba, but went into Vietnam. Those are things you have to keep in mind when you keep pasting political labels on everyone.

No label, but a point of fact. Also, It was Eisenhower that got us into Vietnam.

Not true. From your link:

Beginning in 1950, American military advisors arrived in what was then French Indochina. U.S. involvement escalated in the early 1960s, with troop levels tripling in 1961 and again in 1962

It was Truman in 1950 and Kennedy in 1961. Eisenhower was gone in January '61 and Kennedy couldn't wait to go to war after 8 years of tranquility. There were a few powderkegs around the world in the 50s (like Suez) and Ike refused to light them..

And Obamacar is the label that will be put onto any imperfect car that can be blamed for anything, whether or not it is you who labels it.

The DOD has stated November 1st, 1955 as the official start date.

I've always thought it was Johnson who really escalated things. Kennedy did escalate it above Eisenhower though. Ironic that as Vice president Nixon wanted to go in, and that he would be the one to end it as president.

I don't buy into the flip flop ideal in the last 60 years of parties either. Too me, the last liberal Republicans were Teddy Roosevelt's progressive party. I would agree some GOP ideals have become more extreme only through use of media, because actions wouldn't agree. This may change though.

Other than the ever-popular freedom to choose, we live in the United States of Corporations where ExxonMobil, BP, Royal Dutch Shell, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, etc., have their very own U.S. Senators who only represent the citizens who voted for them in their spare time. Also, don't think for a minute that Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Qatar don't have a lot to say about what goes in our government's regulation of the auto industry.

That is not fair to car owners. I would just make the price of gas expensive, and thus force people to get hybrid type cares. You can also convert a car to hydrogen, water, and electric.

Your assumption that red states are "poor" is sheer ignorance. How's California's economy doing compared to Texas' economy?
