I think the Humdai Genesis is capable of coming pretty close to 160 -- maybe they put the same speedometer in several models.

I thought of that too. Haven't looked at a Genesis since it's way out of my price range.

220 kph = 136 mph
What we do know is this is in another country and so may be a different engine offered. What we don't know is if there were any modifications made to the engine and software.

You can pretty much guarantee that Americans get the biggest motors, since we have some of the cheapest gas for any first-world country.

Umm, not really. Europe gets some of the most powerful and fastest models of vehicles sold here. Japan has a history of keeping their fastest powertrains for themselves never to arrive in USA.

A newer Elantra tops out at around 118 MPH. A close friend owns a 2012 and did a test on the open road once.

My uncles S5 has a speedometer that goes to 200 but I think it's limited at 155
