I want to purchase my first new car by myself and plan to buy 2015 compass. My budget is tight and I can afford the basic Sport 4x2 model.
I have already compared prices from many sources: edmunds, autopriceshare, walmart... I get this price from autopriceshare and one local dealer could match it.
I know it is already $4300 off MSRP. However, Before purchase this car, I want to ask: Are there any room in this price? is it possible to get more discounts? Thanks
Have you read the reviews on the Compass? It's a pretty terrible vehicle, that's probably why dealers are desperate to move them off the lot, and it will depreciate very quickly. I'd buy a used Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4, or Hyundai Tucson before I'd buy a new Jeep Compass.
It's built at the same plant in Belvidere illionis were the Dart is built. The compass is a neon on a jeep platform. It is not built in Toledo ohio were the Jeep is built.

Oh yeah, one of the lowest rated new cars out there. A co-worker that is a good friend bought one (2015 Compass) about 5 months ago. She didn't ask me about them of course. So far, I guess she loves it. She hasn't complained, I guess time will tell. She traded in a like new 2013 Nissan Sentra SL for it.
Another friend there has a new '15 Cherokee Latitude. She loved it until she heavily damaged it when it had 200 miles on it. They would not total it since it was so new, despite her flipping it and it landing on its top in a creek! They had it for 5 months trying to repair it. Now she said the interior creaks/squeaks, etc. It is horrible she said.
The Jeep Compass sucked when it was introduced for the 2007 model year. It was bottom of its class compared to the 2007 SUV class. The 2015 Compass has not been redesigned, so now it's an outdated AND bad vehicle. Not to mention the Jeep Compass never had a market niche. It's a Jeep, a marque known for its rugged vehicles, but the Compass is not rugged and doesn't even look rugged at all. Frankly, it's unprecedented it's still sold. You could probably get a used 2012 Honda CR-V for about $17,000. Its design is five years newer and it is a more reliable vehicle. Or try a Hyundai Tucson (2013-2014), Subaru Forester (2011-2013), Toyota RAV4 (circa 2013), or even try a small wagon like the new Honda Fit. All of these vehicles have more modern designs and will be more reliable than the Compass.

I checked our local dealers, and only one of the 5 has any Compass, and they are 2014. The Sport 2x4 is priced at $15,299. I don't know why they are not stocking them, but it seems a little odd, and I do know that the plan is to eliminate them in 2016.
