I have heard people say they may be going over the speed limit but everyone else is as well so you should just follow the flow of traffic. What do you think?

As long as they are staying in the middle or right lane I agree that following the flow of traffic is the safest while keeping a safe following distance.
It's not about how fast you're going, it's able how fast you're going compared to everyone else. The cop will usually always go for the fastest driver on the road so if multiple drivers are going 80mph, don't go above 80 mph.
My trick to not getting pulled over is never speed going up hill since you never know what's on the other side and never speed past overpasses since cops like to hang out behind exit signs. Always look farther ahead on the road than you normally would and suspect any car in the median or shoulder to be a cop. With the amount of unmarked cars on the road, any car could be a cop. Another way to not get pulled over is by simply doing the speed limit...shocker.
A driver got pulled over for speeding on a busy highway. When the cop walked up to the driver's window, the driver chose to argue.
"I was only going as fast as everyone else on this road - why did you pick ME?"
"Ever go fishing?" asked the cop.
"Sure I have. What's your point?" replied the driver.
"Catch every one?" the cop asked, with a smile.

well said. understand however that even going the speed limit doesnt prevent you from getting pulled over and ticketed. there is driving too fast for conditions, impeding traffic, etc. if a cop wants you, you will get a ticket.
Lots of people do it. I do it if it's at a safe speed. But if you get pulled over expect a ticket. None of that "going with the flow" BS is going to work. You're still speeding regardless.
Or, as happened to me 20 years ago, he pulls you over because you slowed down when you saw him and he thought you had a radar detector. Which I did. And I saw him before he painted me and the detector want off.
What if just following the flow of traffic is 3 drivers going 100 mph on a 75 mph rural highway at 1:00 am? I saw someone going 110 mph toward the tail end of a 5 hour drive and paced off him. Another driver joined in.
