Look at it this way,if everyone started driving an electric car tomorrow the primary revenue stream that builds and maintains roads is now $0.
I don't think you are reading what I wrote. If the fee is to replace what I would otherwise pay in gasoline tax then I'm ok with paying one that equals that amount, not one that is many times what I would pay in gas taxes.

You can do that in a Volt.

I like the instant torque and silence myself.
The quietest luxury cars are big noise makers compared to EVs.

If you go back to what I posted previously what I said was to do this fairly you would use a formula based on the weight of the vehicle and the per miles driven. You do that for all vehicles regardless of what fuel types they are using.

You may be paying too much with a $200 fee but we currently do not have anyway to assess these costs on your vehicle. You wouldn't be the only one, someone driving a muscle car that eats gas is also paying too much.

If you still want to take advantage of the tax credits, the solution is to buy a used vehicle. The tax credits are factored into the price.

No clue what you're getting at...all I did was answer your question with a basic answer. My point was they sell what the majority buys inconjuction with what they want to sell. I never even suggested that was what people should do.

Because of the initiative in Colorado, I reaffirm my prior statement that the Koch brothers are the enemy of everything that makes America livable.

The assault on electric cars for me and I am sure millions of others is because as a lifetime hot rodder and drag racing attender the sound of the engine going thru the gears as the car accelerates signifies power. This is tradition that has been from the beginning and we like it, electric cars are a assault on it.
Just cruising around in day to day driving in a cool car is a source of great pride to many many and has always been.
electric cars ain't it.
Electric cars are about as exciting as a refrigerator.

Why would I want a Volt when it still requires gasoline. Huge complexity added for no real gain.
