So I'm in the market looking for a Certified Pre Owned Lexus car but recently thought about Audi as they make really nice looking cars.

I've been looking at 2016 Lexus ES 350's with Navigation pretty heavily and like the features it has.

What would be Audi's version of the ES 350 the Audi A6?

What I'm looking for is something that is quiet in the interior for mostly highway driving in Texas for my commute. Would the Audi as quiet going down the road as the ES?

I currently drive a Hyundai Elantra so I'm sure either would be way quieter than what I have now.

Opinions Go!

An Audi A4 would be similar to an ES...especially price wise. A6's are expensive and drop like a rock in price.

For what you will be using it for I would recommend a LEXUS ES if you don't mind the design. Servicing will be affordable and Lexus Service departments have a great reputation.

Audi is considered the best technology vehicle by CR.
Lexus is the best reliability.
Your call.

Lexus hands down. Audi is overhyped and just not reliable.

If you plan on keeping it forever, Lexus.

If you are leasing or planning on selling 3-4 years Audi.

I recently bought my wife a Lexus RX 350... I personally think its hideous looking, but it has Toyota reliability so I can live it, and my wife drives it so what do I care.

I think Audi's whole line up looks great from top to bottom, but I would not want one that is out of warranty.

if you are only looking for a quiet car, the Lexus is a good option, along with the Toyota Avalon and Hyundai Azera. I personally bought an Azera and it is very quiet and I have a certified powertrain warranty until 2024. If you don't plan on keeping the car past it's warranty period I would pick the Audi though

Yes that's the thing I do plan on keeping this car for some time at least 6 years or more. I like the look of the Audi however, I don't mind the look of the ES but something so reliable like Lexus is making it hard to turn down. Plus it takes regular unleaded.

I know the current ES are on the Avalon platform but I would think they would add some more refinement for the ES such as more sound deadening upgraded materials ect.. Am I wrong?

yeah, but I keep saying - you marry looks you live with reliability. In 2 weeks all you notice is view in front of you on the road and maybe occasional glance at a button to push. New cars have most of that automatic anyway - wife's RX350 has automatic wipers, climate and high beams. What else there to press? Phone connects by itself, hands free.
And in 6 years you ARE out of warranty and Germans are oh so so much expensive to fix.

I started driving Lexuses in 2004. I've had an RX 330, an RX 350 and my current LS 460. Nothing has ever broken and all I do is regular service which is very reasonably priced.
