The next generation Kia Soul EV celebrates its world premiere at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. One of the most upbeat urban compact crossovers is back with even more appeal & upgrades. The vehicle will be powered by a next-generation, state-of-the-art liquid-cooled lithium-ion polymer 64 kWh battery. That’s the same as what’s found in the Kia Niro EV, which goes some 301 miles per charge (WLTP) or an estimated 260 miles EPA.
You can hate the Soul or you can love it, but it has more character than 99% of the cars on the road today. Try to identify any late model car in a parking lot from a distance of 100 feet. Can't ? Now you understand.
We had a 1st gen.2010 Soul, one of the best cars we ever had. I sold it after 8 years because the closest dealer was 50 miles from us. The first guy who called bought it the first day, from a CraigList ad. It was 100% reliable, 2 minor recalls and a parking light bulb went bad on it.

My wife got a 2012 Kia Rio SX. We had one mechanical issue with it (dashboard) in the going on 7 years we have owned it. (we gave it to our daughter in high school). It does have an issue with the clear coat coming off the mirrors but that is minor. We can't complain, it's been a good car. I'm glad it didn't have this ugly front end.
I've always liked Mazda's but I wouldn't buy one with their ugly front ends either. I'm not sure where the idea of the basking shark being something to emulate in a car came from.

My BIL loves his, they've had a couple of Optimas.
He's talking about buying a Cadenza, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he bought a Stinger.
I will just say that is not to my tastes at all. However, I do believe the Kia Optima is one of the best looking new cars out there. If it had been made by one of the more popular companies they would sell like hotcakes...
I bought a 2019 Soul on Black Friday. Excellent price with the discounts, including a Veterans discount.
From what I see on the road, and at this Kia Dealer. People from all age groups buy this popular car. Many now seem to be older people including myself. The car is in this age groups budget, and the car sits higher. What is an option on many other cars, is standard on the Soul now. The warranty can't be beat.
The target audience for the Soul definitely needs to be updated. No longer just the young persons car.
The new look on the 2020 is not bad. I agree the Soul cant be changed all that much. Its a unique body style, which limits updating its appearance.
