That's great except Volvo has the worst build quality/cab construction in the industry. I don't think anyone should be taking pointers from their videos.

I think their semi trucks are better built than their vehicles, lol my brother drove the King of Semi trucks a Western Star, and a Peterbilt but the video was pretty cool on how the truck is made now Volvo owns Mack now and the Virginia plant is UAW. My brother also has had a Kenworth, Mack, and a Ford cab over. He had his own steel hauling company in Detroit.

Ford was a good bang-for-the-buck truck but then of course they sold their heavy duty truck line to Daimler.
(Sterling.)

Western Star is still the only 100% all-steel cab. (For now....*wink*wink*) That's part of what makes those cabs so bulletproof and long lasting.

Daimler's plants for Freightliner & Western Star are mostly UAW, too, even in North Carolina. A little strange to have union plants in a primarily non-union state.

Yes strange to have a union of any kind in the south, Union is a 5 letter swear word in the south.

In 1999 Volvo AB sold the car division to Ford. In 2010, Ford sold the Volvo car business to Geely in China.

Right—the two Volvos, one thar builds trucks and one that builds cars, are completely separate companies.

The two Mitsubishi's are different, too.

Mitsubishi Cars majority owner is Nissan (boy that's a train wreck) and Mitsubishi Fuso trucks is 90% owned by Daimler.

Same thing can be said about GMC and Chevy Heavy truck GM sold 86% to Volvo and was called Volvo GM. Following the GMC General, Volvo GM produced the WhiteGMC WC/WI Class 8 conventional, introduced in 1980 as the White Road Boss 2, the model line was produced through 2000 in various forms as a White, WhiteGMC, Autocar, and Volvo. So many companies bought out big rig manufacturers.
