When you're in need of new tires, purchase Cooper Tires. An American company that produces their tires in the USA, unlike other American companies, such as Goodyear, Firestone, Michelin, etc. that produce their tires in foreign countries.
I buy the best tire at the best price. This year I have purchased Goodyears… some made in the US, some in Germany… and some Kumhos made in Korea. Tires are the most important component on a car and performance can be a lot more important than country of manufacture.
Scraper, your 100% correct on the Coopers. I just put a pair on my truck recently because the OEM Michelins were unavailable. The Coopers were alot cheaper, they're wearing well, and they have a very nice look to them. I'm sold!
I recently bought a set of Kumho's KR21's and they by far are one of the best tires I have ever used. Goodyear sells some crappy tires(integrity's), 17000 miles on a friends new Corolla, BALD... I had a set on my VW, 22000 miles BALD. Michelins are still great tires. Coopers are great too.
I don't care if they're made in the USA or not, but I always buy either Cooper or Kelly, because I drive a vanilla car and I look for a good quality tire at the bottom end of the price curve. I've never had a problem with one.
GYs on my Vette, made in USA...Michey's on the BMW X5, made in USA.
Coopers may be fine, but your point is misleading, and sounds like blather emails, imo.

Cooper makes real good truck tires, specially the Discover line of tires. Very popular in Alaska, but I buy them not necessarily because they are made in the US, although I do like that, but because they are good tires. No doubts about that.
What's the infatuation with US made goods? Other than outsourcing I'd rather buy what I want rather than what's made here.
