....Cars in general have gotten so big that my current MINI 2 seat roadster is about as small as I'd want to be out and about in for safety.
I agree. My wife was a long time fan of Corvettes, and she owned a couple of them, before we got married. About 10 years after we got married, she sold her then 20 year old 'Vette, but then encouraged me to buy one for myself. I did, and bought a new '01 'Vette in the summer of 2001. Now, 20 years later, she's trying to get me to sell it, saying that it's too small, therefore too dangerous, in a world of SUVs.........

I have an 04 C5 convertible, and I don't plan on ever selling it.
It has been a fantastic vehicle.
The C5 has always been touted as the best bang for the buck, and that is absolutely true.
They were a blast, but I owned them before the average car got so big. Getting squooshed by a modern SUV or even a modern sedan would be bad. Easy to park but hard to see over the hood of a pickup truck. lol Cars in general have gotten so big that my current MINI 2 seat roadster is about as small as I'd want to be out and about in for safety.
Ahaha. That 1st pic reminds me of parking every car I've ever had... a toy car in a parking space. I could never find my car... kinda like going shopping with my 4'11" mum... I couldn't see her over racks in stores, so we'd have to synchronize our watches & plan to meet in front at a specific time, otherwise, I'd walk around for 30-min trying to find a mini-mum needle in a haystack. Then I'd have to venture outside & try to find my car nestled in-between 2 behemoths.
I know what you mean about being blown away by speeding trucks/cars. I used to keep a cinder block in my trunk to hold my tiny Geo Metro, Fiat or Yugo (go ahead & laugh) down to the earth.
Although I had liked cars from a very early age, the car that really got me interested in cars was when I saw an article, in 1969, of the Ferrari Daytona. I'd never seen such a wonderful shape- to me it looked like a bullet on wheels.
My very first car was a 59 nash metropolitan, I loved it, but getting parts to keep it on the road was a difficult task. I would take a brand new one now. Otherwise, I will stick with my previous choices, mustang or Rivera.
A Deusenberg touring car like the gangsters drove in the movies. I had a hotwheels one, I wonder what it would be worth today?
