Seat belt fraying... (mileage, drivers, Ford, 2004)

Noticed the drivers belt is starting to fray. It is on my 2004 Focus. Anybody ever replaced this thing? The parts don't show up on autozone or rockauto. Thinking it is a dealer item?

It might be worth running it by the dealer to see if Ford might be willing to 'goodwill' it, if there's no signs of abuse it seems unusual at that age unless the mileage is unusually high?

It's the kind of thing that's very dependent on the relationship your local dealer has with their area Ford rep, it's a safety item and really small potatoes so it's worth a shot, 93K isn't really in the realm of high mileage anymore.
What Burdell said. You might try to figure out what, exactly, is fraying the belt, I have certainly seen older and higher-mileage rigs with no fraying.
There are vendors in Hemmings that offer the belts for restoration as well.
I think seatbelts have to be replaced free due to Fed regulation if the car is under ten years old - prob want to try calling the service department.
