The door lock on my back door fell out between the sections of the door. Is this a major job to repair or could it be done by someone with some repair knowledge?

It shouldn't be. Check out a repair manual and see how hard it is.

Depends what kind of vehicle it is, it would help determine the cause which leads into a fix for your troubles, some elaboration on the exact problem would help but if you know someone with general automotive skills, they should be able to help you BUT if it's like most cases "Oh yeah, I know all about it..." then it comes down to how well you know if they can really help.

Think you are referring to the part dropping down inside the door panel. Removing the panel will expose the part and probably the screw/bolt that held it in place. Panel would have to be removed if you had a broken window...no difference...still needs removal to re-attach the part.

Great! I just wonder if you can recommend some blogs or forums about open house sales and appraisals. By the way, nice article. Chandler Locksmith.
