As someone that has flown MAS out of KLIA several times (KL-PEK, KL-ADL, KL-HK, KL-SNG, KL-DBX and KL-DPS) i am deeply saddened. Could easily have been me. I love Malaysia Airlines.. Great service. Flying out of Australia to Asia, id always go Malaysian or Singapore..

I hope none of the kind staff that id encountered throughout these years were on that flight.

Elsewhere, I've read that the passenger manifest shows the name of an Italian man, who has phoned relatives to tell them that he was not on board. His passport was reportedly stolen two months ago though. Possibility of foul play?

I just heard this on the CCTV English news channel. The passport was stolen 2 months ago in Thailand.
No Italian citizens were on board this flight.

I am also hearing reports of a second passenger with a stolen Austrian passport.

This increases the chances of foul play considerably ... sad to say
