I will need childcare beginning this summer (May) for an infant. Does anyone have any recommendations for affordable care in Catonsville/Ellicott City/Columbia?

Depends on your definition of affordable and what type of care that you want.

The Young School - Kings Contrivance and Long Reach
Childrens Manor Montessori - Columbia and Ellicott City
Love of Learning
Childtime - EC

Unless something dramatically changed, do not bother with La Petite in Columbia.

Well, finding "affordable" and quality daycare in Howard County is going to be tough!
If you consider $1260 per month to $1575 per month etc.. "affordable".. then yes, check out the schools the previous person posted. My 4 year old daughter goes to one of them mentioned, but she joined the school at 2 years old, when she needed structured learning and an education focused program. Personally paying infant rates, at these schools were not affordable for my family. We choose a family daycare setting.. paid $800.00 per month and it took us months to find one we were comfortable with.
So , my advice would to be find a home daycare atleast for the first year.. give yourself some time (just like your doing now) as you'll need it for interviews. Using this website, you can check by counties for both state licensed schools and homebased daycares within a distance of a zip code. Then call them for an interview.. MCC Maryland Child Care Resource Network
Good Luck!

Default Ellicott City/Elkridge Childcare

We were at Grace Church Childcare Center off Landing and Montgomory Road before we moved out of state. We loved it there and were sad to leave.
