This billboard is all about preventing the spread of HIV and has nothing to do with promoting being gay. Like it or not, there are many people who are on the down low and who are engaging in these acts. It's a fact. It may or may not occur to them that it is risky behavior, and a billboard such as this just may get some people thinking. If it prevents one person from spreading HIV, then it is worth it.

Maybe you should move to the middle east, OP, I hear they have the same views on civil rights.. Where would you be without the evolution of civil liberties? Without them would you be sitting around on a computer right now, posting freely whatever provocative drivel enters your brain? I guess it's sort of a catch 22.

Do you find this to be acceptable?

I don't know your motivation for posting this. I will say that I had to go to Frederick today and took Gwynns Falls to 70. I drove by the corner that you referred to in a later post. Guess what??? No billboard there!

Wow, westsideboy is hysterically on point. I cant believe the intolerance of this post. Name calling is such a sign of insecurity.

I'm black and gay and a female.

I wouldn't have thought twice about these men being homosexual other than the stereotypical "macho" image shoved down black men's throats since so many unfortunately have to "man up" at an early age as the father is either a deadbeat dad (MIA or in prison). Aside from in church, this image as portrayed on the billboard would be perceived as unacceptable contact between two men. I've volunteered in many a homeless shelter and "meals on wheels" program for those infected with HIV/AIDS (straight and/or gay - mostly black) - the majority of the women told me the man who infected them REFUSED to wear a condom (again perhaps some fear of being emasculated perhaps...)

Regardless of your views on homosexuality or your religion, the facts are the facts and this recent article should enlighten you to the statistics with regards to the infection rate among black (women) in Baltimore:

HIV among black women in 6 cities far exceeds national average - Los Angeles Times
