Finally! ...a positive thread.

1. SRB will soon be gone.
2. Crabcakes
3. I can commit a crime and probably not get caught or convicted.
4. The football team is a perennial contender.
5. The baseball team has the best color scheme. Orange and Black
6. The uneducated quirky people of all races.
7. The best medical facilities in the world. If you're sick this is the place to be.
8. Proximity to other metropolitan cities.
9. The Art scene is big.
10. 3" of snow sends everybody into a tailspin.

The short answer is the memories. In no particular order:

* The early days (late '40s) living in Uplands when every day was a fun-filled fantasy.

* Sailing down the bay to Tolchester and Betterton on the SS BayBelle with my retired grandparents

* Going to Colt games

* Amusement parks like Gwynn Oak and Carlin's

* Being a big, gorgeous teenager who passed for 21 at age 14 and walking around downtown relishing the young secretaries and office workers as they went out of their way to stare and flirt. Does the city even have good-looking young females anymore especially those who are not constrained by PC?

* Being able to walk anywhere without being bothered including the trek from downtown to parents' home in Belair-Edison via the Gay St. corridor.

* Living in a crowded city of almost 1M but where the inhabitants were friendlier, not as angry, and not as fearful.

* Ubiquitous movie theaters

Shucks, that's just a partial list.

"6. The uneducated quirky people of all races."

*What in the hell is lovable about that??!! Uneducated people (not talking terminal degrees, but more like common sense, decency and intelligence ) are a detriment to any society or civilization.

You sound angrier than usual. Having a bad weekend? Your attitude is a detriment to this thread. Move along.

This list should read "activities that one could do in Baltimore before the politically correct liberals took over and law and order were thrown out the window"
