Black Lives Matter (racism, Persian, Hispanics)

Last week I was talking to a white but very pro-Black friend (I am White.) She was talking about how when the US becomes a majority minority country there will be retribution but "nothing as bad as what Blacks when through." That set me to thinking, what level of Jim Crow legal discrimination is appropriate in the future America? She also assumed that White women would be exempt from the discrimination scheme and only White men would be harmed.

Her thoughts are interesting in a couple of ways:

- She assumes that Black people will be pulling the strings in the new regime. I doubt it. Hispanics will be the big minority and Hispanics didn't, for the most part, suffer under Jim Crow. That is not because Hispanics weren't discriminated against. Instead it is because so many of their ancestors were not here at the time. Anyway, I'm not sure that an ascendant Hispanic minority would necessary go along with the smaller black minority on any payback scheme.

- Legalized discrimination puts all kinds of enforcement burdens on government. Maybe laws that say discrimination against certain groups (White males in this case) is legal but not mandatory could work?

- Another problem is that over 60% of Hispanics consider themselves (in the Census) to be White. Any discrimination scheme would need to clearly delineate Hispanic Whites from non-Hispanic Whites. There is also the problem of classifying Persians, Turks, Arabs, etc. I guess they would push to be considered Asians.

Yup! History repeating itself?! The Irish, Italian (swarthy), Poles and other European immigrants weren't considered white (I don't think they had any choice in this matter, but I think Hispanics do) when first entering into the country.

Post the names of the white supremoes in the Mayor's office, City Council, or other body that governs, regulates, or otherwise affects the lives of the city's citizens.


Show us the REAL truth ..... or get off the pot.
