There is a new apartment building proposed next toe the Coldspring Metro stop, another building proposed on W. Belverdere across from the track and a new apartment building has gone up on Pimlico Road. I just saw where Baltimore housing is selling the old MLK School on Greenspring Ave and there are about a half a dozen proposals from new housing to educational facilities being proposed. Kennedy Krieger being one of them (their main facility is across the street) The other elephant in the room is of course what happens at Pimlico Racetrack.. which is more complicated.

I would say East Baltimore around Hopkins, followed by UMD around MLK in West Baltimore (including Hollins Market and Union Square), Res Hill next to Druid Hill Park, followed by Park Heights probably show the most promise out of all of the City's challenged areas. You could throw in Westport and Cherry Hill but I think that development there may be more targeted as opposed to widespread

Yeah.. there are some cool things going on around Hollins Market. W. Baltimore Street has some really good character as far as neighborhood business districts go.. I remember that there are hopes that it along with Washington Blvd in Pigtown were be the next new neighborhood hot spots for retail/commericial. Pigtown has struggled but had some success. Hollins Mkt seems to be still trying to emerge but maybe with the optimism around Lexington Market these city markets may become more favorable amenities...
