I grew up in Crownsville which is a suburb of Annapolis. I've been to Baltimore a handful of times from field trips to Orioles games. I ended up moving and going off to school in Lubbock,Texas and ended up hating it. Then I moved to Dayton,Ohio while it's not bad here, Dayton has the lingering view of it being a dying city and I can see what they mean there is nothing or very few things to do here. Anyways at the start of the year I figured I needed to go back "home" which would be Maryland. I was wondering what neighborhoods are good/ok and which ones to avoid. Also anyone know what the unemployment rate is like there? And any other tips or two cents. Thanks.

Refer to the "sticky" at the beginning of the thread for neighborhood ideas. There is a thread on jobs also.
Dayton is where they would go on vacation on "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman".

"Dayton, two exits of fun"...from The Simpsons.

Did they really name-check Dayton on Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman? I knew the show was set in Ohio, but I thought northern part of the state.

The town they were in was Fernwood, Ohio. Not sure if it is a real place or not. But they used to talk about going to Dayton. I think the salesman in WKRP used to mention he would go there for the weekend also.
