Hi. I'll be moving to Baltimore next month, just for the summer. I'll be commuting to Lutherville. What are some safe areas within a reasonable commute? I'll be doing an unpaid internship with John Hopkins, so rent is a big factor. But I don't want to be anywhere unsafe. It's been tough finding an apartment because I'm hoping to bring my dog, and most apartments seem to restrict.

I've been looking at a place on Willshire Ave. 21206. Is this area decent?

I disagree. You've actually got to visit a place to see if it will be OK for you.

My advice to those attempting to secure an apartment in Baltimore is to visit here first and get a feel for the place and the neighborhood. If that's impossible, see if you can sublet for a month somewhere and then you'll figure out if it's where you want to live. Might be harder with a dog, but not impossible.
