Been a life time Rangers fan and have seen some good teams come and go without winning anything. I think they win their division for sure and possibly the ALDS, not sure past that. What do ya'll think?

As a Yankee fan, I can tell you only the Tampa Bay Rays, Anaheim Angels (they just always seem to have the Yanks number except for last yr :P), and yes the Texas Rangers scare me this year. Last I looked at Texas's lineup, there 2-6 hitters are all hitting over .300 and there pitching was real good without Cliff Lee. Cliff Lee won the Phillies two games last year against the Yankees in the WS. Pitching him 3 times against the Yankees in an ALCS series would not be cool lol

yes, the Rangers are the real deal...and look to be staying that way for a while. they are young, and once this ownership ordeal gets nipped in the bud, look out MLB...

The Rangers are pretty good. And have some amazing minor league pitching so they may be able to sustain it for a while

Substantially behind the Yankees, Red Sox, Rays and Twins though

2010 WAR Position Players, Pitchers, Total
Twins: 22.2, 13.1 = 35.3
Yankees: 21.3, 9.8 = 31.1
Red Sox: 20.3, 12.4 = 32.7
Rays: 19.0, 10.7 = 29.7
Rangers: 17.5, 10.7 = 28.2

And, yes, I'm stunned that the Twins are so good

So you're telling me there's a chance. I now realize Sabermetrics is the only thing that matters, all hail the Saber-truth!

oh yeah...Twins play ball the right way, they play ball the Twins way!

You're telling me.

I'm enjoying the ride thus far, but the history of this franchise collapsing down the stretch (heat?) is something they'll have to shake off - the fans at the temple are nervous, and maybe they can feel it?

Looks like what I'd call a "thin" playoff team. They have some good talent and a decent mix of pitching, speed, defense and hitting, but lack the type of anchor talent I'd normally expect for a championship club. Hamilton looks pretty good though.

Good talent pipeline, so I'd say playoffs this season and a deeper run in the near future.

I grew up with one of their better young pitchers (hunter), and I am really glad to see him doing well. He's been about baseball his whole life. Also dude never had a problem with nerves and is not afraid to pitch in big game situations so at least you know he wont be a fluke, 8-0

That's a fair assessment......
