Ok now I’m not a baseball fan. Haven’t paid any attention to the game in years. Football and basketball for me. But I’ve been mesmerized by what Ohtani is doing this year. 31 hrs already before the all star break. Oh and the pitching too. He’s doing things that should have been impossible and not a peep about it on here??? What’s up with the baseball fans on CD? Or does everyone here just hate the Angels that much lol

Not a ton of traffic on here for baseball. if you remove 5 posters or so you probably get barely any.

What he is doing is great for baseball. I can only imagine teams might start hoping to find players like that to add a lot of value to their ball club.

Ohtani is already serving double duty on a team that has no chance to contend. Not only did he make the All Star team as a pitcher and DH, he's also participating in the HR derby. The Angels couldn't be handling this any worse. They should trade him or Trout for pitchers, but they won't. Soon, both Ohtani and Trout will be injured leaving them down two sluggers and a pitcher.

The Rays have a 2 way player who just finished almost two years of rehab... Brendan McKay. He retired the first 16 batters he faced in his MLB debut and also had one homer in eleven at bats. He should be back this season.

As Statz stated it's slow in this section.

Busier would be good.

And this is why I wouldn't particularly want a 2 way player. Ohtani got fairly lucky with his injuries (There's been a fairly high incidence of problems with his right elbow) in that he was still able to DH and be effective at it.

Now, what if you've got this great hitter who tears a rotator cuff? That's probably going to lose you a pitcher and a hitter.

Tough situation to be in, and probably the reason that in the past, coaches would direct someone to a position. Either you're a pitcher or a hitter.
