Very well..Roger Clemens has yet to be convicted of a crime.

Now, what was the point you wished to make regarding that?

A) Absense of conviction and absense of guilt go hand in hand?

B) Any private opinion regarding Clemens status must be subordinated to the legal process?

LOL. HOF voting is going to be contentious in the coming years as all the guys from the PED era come up for vote.

PED's were so widespread amongst the top guys that how do you even adjust for that at times?

I figure Clemens will get in. (and I dislike the guy)

Whomever is talking about asterisks needs to pull up the official baseball stats. Even the ADMITTED PED users are all over the record books. If their numbers are all over the record books and baseball won't do anything about it, then how do you keep them out of the HOF?

Well, each voter will have to decide for themselves and the logic will be all over the place.

I feel that Clemens (like Bonds) should be in the Hall of Fame on the basis of what he accomplished in his pre-PED seasons. But the writers are not bound by any rules of fairness or objectivity. I think the system would be in better shape if HoF balloting had been assigned to the players themselves.

I do feel justified in being pissed off at the professional frauds who enjoyed so much adulation and were so heavily compensated for their chemical enhanced heroics. Among the negative outcomes has been a massive screwing up of the record books and an annual HoF controversy which will be with us for another 15 or 20 years.

The cheaters also defrauded those who played without artificial aids. Not only did they enjoy an unfair physical advantage, they also damaged the reputations of the non users by making nearly everyone into a suspect. We know about Arod and Mac et al, but are we certain that Chipper Jones has never used, or Edgar Martinez or the recently inducted Roberto Alomar?

Did Clemens ever test positive for steroids? If not he should be a Hall of Famer. Guys in the '80 s get a pass for greenies why, because they don't jack you all up like steroids, amphetamines would be considered PEDS today so are guys like Mike Schmidt, Andre Dawson, Ricky Henderson under suspiscion for using greenies, and having their HOF honor stripped?

The shame of it all is if players from early on 1910s on up could of takien juice they would have, but yet some act like steroids ruined baseball because it wasn't available for them, sour grapes. Like Pete Rose would of said no, yea right.

Bonds gets killed but how many pitchers did he face that were on steroids or HGH,? how fair is it to keep him out of the HOF when the voters for the HOF have no idea how many pitchers were using. I believe the numbers that Canseco used were more likely true, I think baseball purists just want to think it was only 15 to 20% and it was probably more like 60 to 70% if not higher.
