YOUR 2010 NEW YORK METS Pray For A 14-40 Start So We Can Start Firing Some People And Maybe We Can Get This Thing Turned Around
This suddenly inspired me to propose another one of those special "days" the Mets have always been so fond of. I'd like to suggest Mob Day. Bring your torch and/or pitchfork to Citifield, and prepare to descend on whatever team official shows up. (If nobody from the front office is in attendance, Oliver Perez and Carlos Delgado will be acceptable substitutes).
Pelfrey, Maine, and Perez are done! I don't care about past performance or potential. They need to go. Mets need to pump some young talent into the bullpen if they ever wish to see the post season again.
If you take them out, who do you replace them with? It won't be Sheets since he signed with the A's today. Maybe Wang, Washburn, and Smoltz. You think that makes them better?
Listen, three untested rookies up from the minors would be just as good as three starting pitchers who aren't capable of going into the sixth inning. At this point, I just want to see something done--as opposed to going with the same staff we had out there last season.
Yes Sheets is gone,Garland gone too.I agree to avoid Smoltz. He is old and done.I can't even remember who is left without checking the free agent tracker.

Maybe they can get some of their former now retired pitchers to come out of retirement.
Maybe they can get some high-school dropouts to pitch.
Maybe they can recruit some of us CD-ers to pitch.
They can get the above cheap is that's their direction it so seems.
Part of the Minaya - Manuel out of the organization campaign 2010.
Then the owners need to sell too - Do you hear us Steinbrenner type family?

First thing Mets need to do is to fire Omar, this guy has to go, his recruiting centers on over the hill players that are eligible for medicare.
Omar is an idiot, but the problem is deeper than him. As long as Jeff Wilpon is running the team, the problems will continue. I don't have the exact numbers on the turnover rate of the Mets corporate office staff, but i can tell you that many have jumped ship since Jeff became COO because the atmosphere was too chaotic and nepotistic.
I'm still baffled as to why they didn't sign Jason Marquis, who would have been a great fit to their rotation. That was 15 wins right there from a guy who really wanted to be there. Minaya needs to go.
